Illinois Snowmobile Clubs

Join a Club and get involved!

Backbone of the Sport
Snowmobile clubs are the strength of the sport, not only in Illinois, but across the snow belt. Without snowmobile clubs, there would be no snowmobile trails in Illinois today. Who gets the landowner's permission for trails? Who marks and grooms the trails? Who volunteers to teach our children the safe way to ride snowmobiles? The snowmobile club members do!

Personal Benefits A prime reason to join a snowmobile club is not just the sense of responsibility of doing something positive for the sport. The best reason to join a snowmobile club is to have more fun. Snowmobiling is a very social sport. We like to share it with others. It is much more fun to be with a group than to snowmobile alone. Snowmobile clubs provide an opportunity to meet other people with the same interest. You'll discover new places to ride, plus take club trips. Even the work parties become fun because of the camaraderie. Club events such as hayrides, picnics, campouts, and dances are held to keep the fun going all year long

Choosing a Club Most snowmobile clubs in Illinois are members of the IASC, the parent organization representing the sport of snowmobiling in Illinois. 80 clubs make up the IASC, falling into geographic regions as shown on the map. It makes good sense to join a club in the area where you expect to do most of your riding.

Click on the region of interest on the map for a listing of clubs in that area. If you do not see a Club listed, please contact the IASC as there may be additional Clubs that have not been listed.

The IASC can even help you start a new snowmobile club if there is none in your vicinity. If there are several clubs in your region of interest, visit two or more and pick the one where you feel the most welcome and comfortable.
