ACSA Snowmobile Family
of the Year: The Longs, Sherrard, Illinois
The Long family was introduced to snowmobiling in 1993. It became quickly apparent that they were snowmobile lovers - and they quickly became supports of organized snowmobiling. They first joined a club, where they were instrumental in starting a new club and trail system. They have been officers and directors of their club as well as the Illinois State Snowmobile Association.  They
have participated in fundraisers for the clubs, regions, state
association and ACSA. They have been in charge of raffles as
many other fundraisers. Their children, Mason and Sawyer, were right there with Mom and Dad along the way. They participated in club and state association activities, and even traveled to Washington, DC to participate in the ACSA Fly-In. | The purpose of
the Illinois Association of Snowmobile Clubs, Inc., is to stimulate and
advance the general welfare and safety of the sport of snowmobiling, to serve
the interest of snowmobile owners, to assist such owners against
discriminatory legislative regulations and burdensome taxation, to develop a
fraternal spirit among local snowmobile and other sport enthusiasts, to
provide a medium for exchange of snowmobiling information, protect, conserve
and develop the natural resources of the State of Illinois coincidental to
the use and enjoyment of snowmobiles.
